first post - happy 2024!

 hello all! my first blog post in a long time! i used to use this site religiously as a kid, and i might as well give it another go!

i hope everyone had a nice holiday season - now it's 2024! i have quite a few resolutions - aside from bettering myself and quitting bad habits in general, i want to start crafting this year! 

in fact, yesterday i started embroidery for the first time! i sewed a bit in high school art class, but i was never any good... even though my stitches & technique aren't the greatest, i'm very proud of myself for taking the steps to start a new hobby. my favorite stitch (so far) is the cross stitch. i might try the more complicated stitches today!

along with embroidery, i also want to learn how to crotchet this year. i bought a kit a few months ago, but i think i need to get down the basics before i start a real project. hopefully i'll get some yarn soon!

aside from crafts, i've been spending the new year playing final fantasy 7 (the 1997 version, not the remake). i'm still on part 2, but the game is very interesting & fun so far! 

i will say, i definitely prefer the graphics & old concept art over the new ones. something is just so charming about the polygonal characters and nomura's art style.

to end this post, i just want to take a second to appreciate cloud & sephiroth's designs in kingdom hearts. 

the one winged angel / demon thing is so cool. i wish they kept cloud's wing in his kh2 design, but alas. maybe one day final fantasy will have a place in kingdom hearts again...
